Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs had his mom doing work for him in the stands while playing the New York Jets on Monday night.
Stephanie Diggs is hardly the type to allow an opponent to manhandle her son and let Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner know it during the 22-16 thriller between the teams as she yelled at the latter to stop holding her boy.
She would rub it in when the WR caught a touchdown pass in the first half that saw him and quarterback Josh Allen become the second-most prolific QB-QR pairing in the history of the game. The 30th regular-season TD left Allen and Diggs behind only Hall of Famers Jim Kelly and Andre Reed in such regard.
Unfortunately for the Diggs family, the Bills would surrender a lead in the fourth quarter, with the Jets tying things up to send the game into overtime and win it with a remarkable punt return from rookie Xavier Gipson.
The Bills jumped out as the favorites once Aaron Rodgers was ruled out as Zach Wilson took over but the youngster, now the team’s starting QB in the wake of A-Rod’s torn Achilles, gave a decent account of himself and was able to impact the result in a positive way.
Allen, on the other hand, had one of the worst games of his career as he ceded possession on four occasions.
