Stefon Diggs took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to make it clear that he never requested a trade from the Buffalo Bills.
Citing sources, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith reported on Monday’s edition of “First Take” that the All-Pro wide receivers want out of Buffalo. But Diggs quickly poured cold water over the rumor, stating that the speculation is “100% not true.”
Trade speculation surrounding Diggs began to heat up back in June when he was absent from one of the Bills’ minicamp sessions. Digg’s agent, Adisa Bakari, simply stated at the time that they were on the way to resolving matters. The 29-year-old returned to practice the following day.

In the 2020 offseason, Buffalo acquired Diggs in a blockbuster trade with the Minnesota Vikings. Since Diggs’ arrival, quarterback Josh Alle has taken his game to another level, leading Buffalo to three straight seasons of 11-plus wins and three consecutive AFC East division titles.
In his first year with Buffalo, Diggs led the league in both receptions (127) and receiving yards (1,535), helping Buffalo to its first AFC Championship Game appearance since 1993. They ultimately fell to the Kansas City Chiefs, who also ousted Buffalo in the 2021 AFC Divisional Round.
Last season, Diggs put up 108 receptions for 1,429 yards and 11 touchdowns despite missing four games. Buffalo will open their 2023 season on the road against the New York Jets on Sept. 11.
