The Pittsburgh Steelers are making a huge change in the coaching staff.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are moving on from inside linebackers coach Jerry Olsavsky as they hire Aaron Curry to fill the role, according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The Steelers announced the hire of Curry, marking the second inside linebackers coach in two seasons to come to Pittsburgh. Curry follows Brian Flores, who left to become the Minnesota Vikings’ defensive coordinator.
Olsavsky had been with the organization for over two decades before being let go. His role with the team diminished greatly last year.
Curry spent the last four years working in various roles for the Seattle Seahawks, including assistant defensive line/defensive ends coach in 2022. He played four seasons in the NFL after Seattle selected him with the fourth overall pick in the 2009 draft.
This move leaves the Steelers without an outside linebackers coach heading into next season. A move for that position is expected to happen before the start of the season.
The Steelers are fresh off a winning campaign but wasn’t good enough to get into the playoffs.
