After struggling to find much consistency through the first five weeks of the 2022 season, it appears that Chase Claypool might be on his way out of Pittsburgh.
If the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to move on from Claypool, they want a massive return, according to a report by Sports Illustrated. The Steelers are asking for a Christian McCaffrey-like trade in exchange for the third-year receiver.
McCaffrey was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in return for a 2023 second-, third- and fourth-rounders and a 2024 fifth-rounder. The Steelers are reportedly looking for “multiple” second-round picks, a third-round pick and a fourth-round pick.
Claypool has repeatedly been rumored to be a target for the Green Bay Packers.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, multiple general managers are “certain” the Packers want a wideout amid a disappointing 3-3 start to the season that has featured back-to-back losses to the New York Giants and New York Jets.
