The Chicago Bears will have to make a decision between Justin Fields and Caleb Williams before the 2024 NFL Draft.
If the Bears spend the No. 1 pick on a new quarterback, they could find a trade partner for Justin Fields with a notable team that has been mentioned for quite some time. The Bears are most likely going to trade Justin Fields this offseason. Right now, the Steelers are emerging as a top landing spot.
The newest rumor states league executives are not only expecting a deal next month but have mapped out how the trade will look for both sides.
The Steelers would receive quarterback Justin Fields and a fourth-round pick while the Chicago Bears would get pick number 20 and would also pay part of Justin Fields’ contract for the 2024 season.
If the Bears decide to draft Caleb Williams at No. 1 overall, most reports indicate the Bears could return at least a second-round pick for Fields.
Chicago currently holds the No. 1 and No. 9 overall picks in the draft and could look to move off Fields before next season despite a strong finish to the season for the third-year signal caller. No one expects them to trade the number 1 pick like they did last year and had them miss out on a talent like CJ Stroud.

Fields is entering the final year of a four-year, $18.9 million contract next season. The Steelers became the clear favorite for his services earlier this week after cutting Mitch Trubisky and ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on “The Pat McAfee Show” that head coach Mike Tomlin is a “big fan” of Fields.
This season, Fields finished with 2,562 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions while also rushing for 657 yards and four touchdowns.
