Happy April Fools Day to anybody who does not realize what today is.
The Pittsburgh Steelers announced a new free-agent signee on Saturday and just about everybody has heard of this guy.
The Steelers tweeted that they have “agreed to terms with WR Calvin Broadus Jr.” He is also known as Snoop Dogg. As you may have figured out, Snoop is not actually joining the team.
The announcement was an April Fools’ joke.
The 6-foot-4 Dogg could likely do some damage on the field if this was back in the 90’s when he was young. However, I think hip-hop fans loved that he chose to take his talents to the booth.
For the Steelers, the team is coming off a year where they finished over .500 extended an incredible streak by Mike Tomlin who has never had a losing team. After a dreadful start to the season, the Steelers committed to rookie QB Kenny Pickett and closed the season going 7-2 in their final nine games.

Tomlin has finished at .500 three times, in 2012, 2013, and 2019. In each of his other 12 full seasons, Tomlin has a winning record. He has also made the playoffs 10 times in his career.
