Retired NFL running back Sony Michel woke up to the news that he had shockingly passed away in a motorcycle accident, a rumor started by an X user.
The only problem there is that he was reading the rumor because he was not in an accident and was not dead.
The two-time Super Bowl champion responded to the incorrect news, calling it “fake news.”
The former Patriots running back and two-time Super Bowl champion is alive and well and fans are now rightfully upset at the person who leaked the false news.

Michel — the Patriots’ first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft — spent three seasons with the Patriots and scored the lone touchdown in New England’s Super Bowl LIII 13-3 victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
He would be traded to the Rams in 2021 and won his second Super Bowl in LA’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.
He had a brief stint with the Miami Dolphins in 2022, but was released before the regular season. Michel played in 10 games for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2022 before he was released that December.
The Rams would finally reunite with him this offseason, but then he abruptly retired a few weeks later at the age of 28. All told, Michel finished his career with 3,342 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns.
