The Kentucky Wildcats football program did not need any bad news during this offseason, but they certainly got it when one of their players got arrested.
Police arrested Rahsaan Lewis, the son of NFL legend Ray Lewis, over the weekend, and charged him with driving under the influence. He received charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, improper start from a parked position, and reckless driving.
“Lewis, a senior at the school, was pulled over by a Lexington police officer at 535 S. Upper Street at 2:58 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest citation filed by the city police department. According to the citation, Lewis showed signs of impairment during a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol concentration of .153, nearly double the legal limit.”
An officer on the scene believed Lewis was driving 65 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone.
The University of Kentucky issued a short statement saying the team is “aware” of the incident. “We are aware of the incident and we will continue to monitor the situation as it develops,” the statement read.
Lewis only played in six games for the Wildcats last season and recorded two receptions for four yards and also returned a punt. A knee injury would cause him to miss seven games.

Lewis is in the mix for playing time this season.
Lewis was arraigned Monday and has a pretrial conference scheduled for April 22.
