You can scroll down that page for quite some time and won’t find a single post that is not about Newton. That is either him or somebody who needs a medical evaluation.
It’s been almost three weeks since the Patriots cut Cam Newton, and he has since responded in one of the most frank, fascinating interviews pro football has ever seen. Newton released a 45 minute video titled “My Side Of The Story,” where he sat down with his father, Cecil Newton Sr. to discuss his process of getting cut.
“The reason why they released me is because, indirectly, I was going to be a distraction,” Newton said. “Just my aura. And that’s just — and I told you this off camera — that’s my gift and my curse. When you bring a Cam Newton to your facility, when you bring a Cam Newton to your franchise, people are interested by the mere fact of who is he.
“Let me be honest with you. If they were to ask me, would I play behind, they say, ‘Cam, we’re going to give the team to Mac. You’re going to be the second string. We expect you to be everything and someone to guide him throughout his tenure.’ I would’ve said, ‘Absolutely.'”
