Somebody clearly has a huge bank account.
Via BetMGM, someone wagered $2.3 million on the Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV as a 3.5-point underdog.
The unknown person would walk away with $2 million on Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.
If you don’t quite understand the bet, it means the Buccaneers will have to either win, or lose by three or fewer points for that bettor to collect his or her $2 million win.
“This was a bet we were very happy to receive,” said Jason Scott, VP of trading at BetMGM. “BetMGM had previously written several six-figure bets all on the Chiefs and the public is certainly behind Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes. This big Buccaneers bet has helped balance our book.”
Clearly, if somebody has the money to put $2.3 million on a football game, losing it probably won’t hurt that much at all.
