In a playoff-clinching performance, Justin Herbert led the Chargers to a much-needed victory, which got his squad into the postseason.
The Los Angeles Chargers clinched a playoff berth in head coach Jim Harbaugh’s first season as they defeated the New England Patriots 40-7 on Saturday.
The team made it as a wild-card team since the Kansas City Chiefs have already won the AFC West.
The Chargers were never challenged, as they went up 17-0 before the Patriots finally responded.
Quarterback Justin Herbert had no interest in having a close game as he completed 26 of his 38 passing attempts for 281 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
With his performance, Herbert passed Peyton Manning’s NFL record for most passing yards in the first five years of a career.
He was informed of this after the game.

Chargers defensive back Derwin James was doing a joint interview with Justin Herbert and got immediately fired up upon hearing about Herbert breaking the record.
He would start yelling before smacking Herbert on the shoulder and then on the chest.

One fan pointed out that Justin Herbert might be autistic just based on his reaction to being hit.
“herbert is so autistic dude look at the sensory overload when derwin hits him lmao.”

Justin Herbert has never been one of those players that wears his emotions on his sleeves. He just goes out, does his job, and hopes for the best.
His possibility of being autistic is unconfirmed, but it would certainly explain a lot about him.
Justin Herbert Still Looking For First Playoff Victory
The last time the Chargers were in the playoffs was the 2022-2023 season. That season was memorable for them, having one of the biggest collapses in NFL history when they lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars 31-30 after leading 27-0 at one point.
Herbert led the Chargers to a 40-7 victory over the New England Patriots, which secured LA a postseason berth.
This will mark Herbert’s second appearance in the postseason in his career, giving him another chance to secure that elusive first playoff victory.
