Jseth Owens was really hoping his name would not trend on social media again, but Cam Newton is back in the news.
On Friday, Newton re-signed with the Patriots on a one-year deal. The contract is worth up to $13.6 million with about $6 million of the deal is tied to incentives.
The deal came just a few weeks after video surfaced of a kid at his camp trying to roast him for being a free agent and possibly going broke soon.

In 2020, Newton was 242-of-368 for 2,657 yards passing, with 8 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
The Patriots went 7-8 with Newton at the helm and finished 7-9, missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2008 season.
