Some people think Tom Brady may have completely reset the market when it comes to sports broadcaster deals. But if you ask me, I’d ague that Tom Brady simply has a market of his own, as it’s hard to compare the seven-time Super Bowl champion to any NFL analyst who’s come before him.
How do you even set a market value for someone with a resume like Brady? Well, in case you missed it, Fox did just that when they signed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback to a 10-year, $375-million contract earlier today. That deal will be waiting for Tom whenever he decides to retire.
That’s way more than any other analyst is making at the moment, including Tony Romo and Troy Aikman. Heck, even Stephen A. Smith, who seems to be on our television screens 24/7, isn’t racking in anything near that amount of money.
Brady’s contract is so ludicrous that it had social media roasting his future fellow broadcasters and analysts — most notably, Romo, Stephen A., and Aikman.
