The Denver Broncos got dealt a huge injury blow when QB Drew Lock went down with a rotator cuff injury that will keep the second-year signal caller out of action for the next 3-5 weeks.
On Tuesday, the Broncos announced they were signing Bortles to a one-year deal, pending COVID-19 testing and a physical.
It was a move that shocked the football community as many took to Twitter and blasted the team for signing Bortles over free agent QB Colin Kaepernick.

The former third overall draft pick, Bortles spent his first five NFL seasons (2014-2018) with the Jacksonville Jaguars, playing in 75 games and throwing for 17,646 yards with 103 touchdowns and 75 interceptions.
