Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tom Brady made a hilarious joke about joining the CFL on Monday, and it led to some epic reactions from social media.
Brady led the Buccaneers to a 21-16 victory on Sunday in Munich — the first ever NFL game to take place in Germany. With the victory, Brady became the first quarterback to win an NFL game in four different countries.
Aside from the United States and Germany, seven-time Super Bowl champion also has victories in Mexico (against the Raiders in 2017) and in the United Kingdom (against the Bucs in London in 2009 and against the Rams in London in 2012).
On the latest edition of his “Let’s Go!” podcast (h/t Jori Negin-Shecter of Yahoo Sports), Brady joked about heading up north to play in Canada, citing his success in games outside of the United States.
“I’m hoping I can get to go to play in the CFL at some point and really see what I can make of myself up there. Because things have gone pretty well outside the country.”
As one could expect, Brady led to some hilarious responses from the Twitter community. Here are some of the best ones.

Jim Gray, one of Brady’s podcast co-hosts, noted that one of TB12’s former teammate in New England played in the CFL. That would be Doug Flutie, a three-time Grey Cup champion and six-time CFL Most Outstanding Player award winner.
Via Negin-Shecter, Brady added that Flutie is “hero of mine.” Flutie played for the Buffalo Bills from 1998-2000 before joining the San Diego Chargers for for four seasons. His final season of pro football was spent with the Patriots in 2005.
Brady’s contract with the Buccaneers will expire after this season. If he decides to continue playing at the age of 46, Brady will most definitely decide to stay in the NFL rather than head to the CFL, and there won’t be a shortage of teams interested in his services.
Brady and the Buccaneers are on a bye this week. They’ll return to action in Week 12 with a road tilt against the Cleveland Browns.
