An old clip of FS1 personality Skip Bayless is going viral.
Bayless, one of the most controversial figures on television, hardly fails to make the headlines as he’s always good for a wild take. Most of them rub multiple sets of people the wrong way.
Well, it appears the 71-year-old has had a lifetime’s worth of experience when it comes to being a pain in the butt.
Rare footage of a young and cocky Skip from 1982 has surfaced online which shows him being interviewed after leaving the Dallas Morning News to go work for their rivals, the Dallas Times Herald.

Bayless was a print journalist back then and was quickly working his way up to becoming one of the most famous men in his field. Hired by the Morning News to write the paper’s main sports column at the age of 26, the former ESPN analyst was voted the Texas sportswriter of the year three years running. He left for the Times Herald three years after landing the big job at the Morning News and, of course, rubbed people the wrong way.
As you’ve heard in the interview above, he couldn’t even return to get his things from his old workplace for fear of physical violence.
Over four decades have gone by since that interview. Skip hasn’t changed a bit.
In fact, he’s gotten worse.
