Minkah Fitzpatrick had the 3rd highest coverage grade among safeties in the AFC last year, according to PFF. Somehow, none of that really mattered to the folks at EA Sports.
On Thursday, the Madden NFL franchise dropped ratings for the top-10 safeties in the league, and fans couldn’t help but to notice that the Pittsburgh Steelers star wasn’t listed.
Here’s the full list:
- Harrison Smith: 95
- Tyrann Mathieu: 93
- Jamal Adams: 92
- Devin McCourty: 92
- Kevin Byard: 91
- Justin Simmons: 90
- Derwin James: 89
- Eddie Jackson: 89
- Micah Hyde: 88

All Minkah did in 2019 was record five interceptions, returning one of those picks 96 yards for a touchdown. He also returned one of his two fumble recoveries for a score. Fitzpatrick totaled 57 tackles, nine passes defensed and a forced fumble.
Fitzpatrick, who was traded to Pittsburgh two games into the 2019 season, earned an All-Pro selection last season while helping the Steelers boast one of the league’s best defensive units.
Safe to say that Madden disrespected him.
