Cowboys star Micah Parsons is trending on Twitter this Thursday after he posted about WNBA star Brittney Griner.
Everybody woke up to the good news that the United States agreed to a one-for-one prisoner swap involving Griner. However, Parsons had a strong reaction because Marine Paul Whelan was not part of this deal. Whelan was sentenced to 16 years in a Russian prison on spying charges.
“Wait nah!! We left a marine?!! Hell nah,” Parsons tweeted.
The linebacker would soon clarify himself in a follow-up tweet about Griner.
“My last tweet was no shot at Brittney Griner,” he wrote. “I’m super happy she’s back home as she should be. I just have family who have served and it’s crazy to me the President wouldn’t bring him home too. I’m the furthest thing from a trump supporter but I’m not a fan of Biden either.”
However, he had another tweet directing his anger at Joe Biden, which caused social media to give him two nicknames. It was a tweet declaring that he still wouldn’t vote for President Biden, in response to Biden’s tweet announcing the Griner deal.

Griner’s release after roughly 10 months in custody came after weeks and months of campaigning by countless athletes and sports journalists calling attention to her situation.
Without her imprisonment, more than half of this country would not even know the name of Paul Whelan. If the reports are true that Russia refused to have him part of any deal, it means they really do not want this man free and he might have to ride his sentence out.
