There is a sequel series to Blue Mountain State in development and one former NCAA college star wants to be in it.
The show originally premiered on Spike back in 2010 and it ran for three seasons. The series followed the football team of a fictitious university called Blue Mountain State. It later gained a cult following after it was added to Netflix.
Deadline reports that Amazon and Netflix are both contenders to land the sequel series. Three actors are expected to return, with more likely to be announced in the near future.
Johnny Manziel, the former Texas A&M star and 2012 Heisman winner, seems like he wants a piece of the action when it comes to the series.
“I wanna be in this in the worst way. Blue Mountain State 4eva,” Manziel wrote on X.
Manziel would fit perfectly for the show as his story includes partying, boozing, and drug use during and after his days at Texas A&M.

According to Deadline, the cult-classic, over the top, college football and partying show is being revived with Alan Ritchson (Thad Castle) coming back as the lead.
With many original characters returning, Manziel would need to either play an entirely new character or possibly even himself. Of course, this is all speculative and the only thing that is for sure happening is that there’s an upcoming sequel.
Darin Brooks, who played backup QB turned starter Alex Moran, and Chris Romano, who, along with co-creating and producing the show, played team mascot Sammy Cacciatore, will be back along with Eric Falconer, executive producer for the original.
Johnny Manziel’s time in Cleveland didn’t go the way that anyone planned. When he was selected with the 22nd overall pick in the 2014 draft many hoped he’d become a savior for the franchise.
Manziel’s 1,675 passing yards are still good enough for 31st all-time in Browns franchise history.
