Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews took criticism for his actions on and off the field after Sunday night’s crushing loss to the Buffalo Bills.
The Bills will be moving on to the AFC Championship Game on the back of a marginal 27-25 win that went down to the wire. There was a chance for the Ravens to tie the game after the two-minute warning, but Andrews dropped the two-point conversion pass from Lamar Jackson to seal Buffalo’s progress.
Andrews also made a costly fumble earlier in the quarter to nullify what began as a key drive.
Jackson and head coach John Harbaugh defended the TE while speaking to reporters, pointing out that they wouldn’t have made it as far as they did without him. But Andrews had nothing to say for himself, as he was not available to speak to the media following the loss.
“Mark Andrews wasn’t available to speak to reporters in the locker room after the game,” Ravens reporter Jeff Zrebiec tweeted.

“Mark Andrews wasn’t available to make plays during the game so this makes sense,” one suggested.

“Sorry but that’s unacceptable from Mark. He’s a veteran on this team and in the biggest moment and game in his career he did not deliver. Very disappointing…” said another.

He's a veteran on this team and in the biggest moment and game in his career he did not deliver.
Very disappointing…
“Had the worst game of his career then ran from the cameras I can’t think of a worse final game for him,” a third wrote.

“That’s absurd. He choked in the biggest game of the year. Two drops and a fumble. He shouldn’t be exempt from facing the media,” someone else chimed in.

While Andrews can’t bear the full brunt of the blame for the defeat, his mistakes were costly and fans are of the view that he should have at least spoken to reporters at the end of the game.
Of course, it’s easy to say when you’re not the man who made multiple glaring errors in one of the biggest games of his career.
