Throughout the history of the NFL Draft, not many people have paid much attention to particular numbered draft picks outside of the first round.
That will undoubtedly change as one number in the Draft is making waves as a top selection, and there is history to prove it.
A post on X, formerly Twitter, showed that several teams have struck gold when picking a player with the number 69th pick in the NFL Draft over the years.
It started in 2015 when the Seattle Seahawks picked Kansas State wide receiver Tyler Lockett at No. 69 in the 2015 NFL Draft. Lockett has notched 7,994 yards and 59 touchdowns across his career.
With the 69th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Jaguars selected Maryland defensive lineman Yannick Ngakoue. The free-agent pass-rusher has 69 career sacks.
Cooper Kupp was drafted 69th overall in 2017, and he would become a future Offensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl MVP.
The Giants added to their defensive front by selecting N.C. State defensive tackle B.J. Hill with the 69th overall pick in 2018. He has 147 solo tackles, 138 assists, 20.5 sacks, four fumble recoveries and two interceptions.

With the No. 69 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks selected Damien Lewis, a guard out of LSU. He only allowed three sacks in 2023.
The Bengals selected Joseph Ossai with the No. 69 pick in the 2021 draft. Ossai has played in 30 career regular-season games and totaled 27 tackles with 4.5 sacks.

Last year, the Houston Texans selected Houston Cougars wide receiver Tank Dell with the 69th pick. He finished his rookie campaign with 47 catches, 709 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns, but his year was cut short due to a season-ending injury, per ESPN.com.
Los Angeles Chargers Made Next Selection With The 69th NFL Draft Pick
The Los Angeles Chargers selected Michigan linebacker Junior Colson as the 69th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Based on the history of that number, he has a lot to live up to.
Some say Colson is a good value and one of the top linebackers in the draft class.
