Last month, following the Miami Dolphins’ surprise firing of Brian Flores, many within the NFL world felt it was inevitable that the coach and disgruntled Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson would find a new home together.
Well, it appears as though the first domino in that theory has fallen, as Flores was hired by the Pittsburgh Steelers during the week to take on defensive assistant duties.
That news, of course, has sent social media into a frenzy, as many believe that Deshaun Watson could be the next addition to this Steelers team.
The move would certainly make sense. Not only are Watson and Flores close (as they’ve reportedly been keeping in touch throughout all of this), but the Steelers are also in the market for a new starting quarterback after losing Ben Roethlisberger to retirement.
Adding Watson would instantly make the Steelers one of the top favorites to take home the Super Bowl next season, as they already field one of the league’s best defenses along with several intriguing weapons on offense.
