The Las Vegas Raiders have made a few horrible decisions today during their trip to Arrowhead Stadium for a week 14 contest against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Their first big mistake came before the two teams even kicked off, as the Raiders players thought it would be a good idea to hold a team meeting on the Chiefs’ midfield logo at the conclusion of their pregame warmups.
There’s nothing worse that giving your opponents some extra motivation just minuted before kickoff, but that’s exactly what the Raiders did. And it backfired almost immediately, as the KC defense forced a fumble on the first play from scrimmage and returned it for a touchdown.
That was the first of 35 consecutive points by the Chiefs to open the game.
The Raiders would eventually get on the board, but it would come in the most pathetic way, which brings us to their next mistake…
Trailing 35-0 and facing a 3rd & 4 from the Chiefs’ 7-yard line with just three seconds remaining, the Raiders opted to kick a field-goal and erase the goose egg, rather than go for the touchdown. It was a weak sauce call that was met with plenty of disapproval from the Twitterverse.
