Most professional athletes these days have incredibly strict nutrition plans to go alongside their workout regimens, and you would think a guy like DK Metcalf has the same thing.
The Seattle Seahawks star receiver joined Kevin Garnett on the KG Certified podcast this week and the Hall of Famer asked Metcalf to describe how important nutrition is, to which Metcalf laughed and explained why he is not the best person to ask when it comes to these things,
Metcalf’s daily intake of one Starbucks coffee, one actual meal, and “three to four bags of candy” left Garnett in total disbelief.
“I eat one meal a day, drink one coffee and eat like three, four bags of candy,” Metcalf said.
Garnett dove more into what Metcalf was eating by asking what candy he was consuming, to which the 24-year-old said he mixed bags of Skittles and Life Savers gummies the previous day.

This is a big difference from the health regiment Metcalf described to GQ’s Alex Shultz before beginning his rookie campaign in 2019.
“It’s a low-carb diet. A lot of proteins and veggies,” Metcalf said. “Like today, for breakfast, [my private chef] had me eating a lot of vegetables, three slices of bacon, and some fruit. I try not to eat a lot of fats and oils, and I stay away from carbs and sugars.”
He might have a sweet tooth, but he is a beast on the field. Metcalf has scored 29 touchdowns in three tremendous NFL seasons.
