The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback tragically lost his life while in Florida after being struck by a dump truck while walking on the highway.
Not many details regarding the incident have come out, as police continue to investigate what exactly happened that Saturday morning. However, talk show host Andy Slater has come out with a report of his own, claiming Haskins was traveling in a vehicle with an intoxicated woman shortly before his death.
According to Slater’s report, the woman was found “passed out” in Haskins’ disabled car near the scene of the fatal accident.

As for Slater, he claims to have multiple sources who have verified the report regarding the intoxicated passenger in Haskins’ vehicle. However, he’s been the only source to actually report it in the media — leaving some to question the credibility of the story.
And even if it is true, many others took issue with the report in general, feeling it was a needless bit of information that didn’t need to be divulged during this time.
Others did side with Slater, citing the ‘it’s news’ argument, therefore feeling it’s something that needs to be reported on.
Both side make valid points here. The main issue is whether or not the information is accurate. Slater does seem confident in his sources, but it is also peculiar that no other news outlets are reporting this news as of yet.
Whether or not he’s got his facts straight should be revealed as this investigation unfolds.
