This Sunday’s divisional-round showdown between the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills could have been seriously impacted by snow.
Fortunately, that’s not going to be the case as the Bills will be hosting the fixture at their Highmark Stadium instead of the Bengals, who may have very well been the home team had seeding not been affected by the horrific incident stemming from the last game the two teams attempted to play against each other.
The Week 17 fixture was suspended after Damar Hamlin collapsed due to cardiac arrest three weeks ago and was subsequently called off altogether, which changed seeding in the AFC.
The Bengals were not happy with the way things turned out, and who could blame them? They were ahead at the point that the game was stopped and may have gone on to win it.
They probably don’t feel that bad anymore given the state of affairs at their Paycor Stadium on Sunday. According to WLWT, an affiliate of NBC, the grounds are worse for wear on account of bad weather, including heavy snowfall.
We should be praising Roger Goodell for his impeccable foresight right now. Just imagine a game being played in such weather. It wouldn’t have been pretty.
