On Wednesday morning, the news finally came down that the Dallas Cowboys and Ezekiel Elliott have come to terms on a six-year, $90 million contract extension
The deal has $50 million guaranteed, which surpasses Todd Gurley’s $45 million as the most for an NFL running back.
The deal seems really friendly for Zeke, but Jerry Jones is no fool.
In one of the clauses of the contract, if Zeke were to get suspended or have another off-the-field incident, most of his guaranteed money would void, according to Ustadium.
The 24-year-old was suspended six games in 2017 for violating the league’s personal conduct policy stemming from an alleged assault in 2016 with a former girlfriend. He was never charged or arrested, but the league still punished him.
This past May, Elliott was viewed on camera shoving a security guard at a music festival in Las Vegas. The NFL elected not to punish him for that instance.

Through all the off-field issues, the Cowboys have supported Elliott.
That support can only go so far.
