Sip Bayless has teased that there’s something big on the horizon, having made his FS1 exit this Friday.
The veteran analyst brought his run on ‘Undisputed’ to an end after an eight-year stint following reports of an impending departure from a few weeks ago.
Bayless took to Twitter to announce the end of his FS1 era this Friday, also claiming to have made plans to pursue other projects several months ago.
“Today was my last show on Undisputed. I’m leaving FS1.” he wrote. “I’ve been planning to pursue other opportunities for several months. I had a great 8-year run with a lot of great people at FOX, but now I’m excited for what’s coming up. Stay tuned.”
Skip Bayless Enjoyed A Successful Run Alongside Shannon Sharpe Before Things Turned Sour
The 72-year-old left ESPN in 2016 in a surprising move. He went on to carve out another space at FOX, taking the debate-style format he started with Stephen A. Smith at The Worldwide Leader in Sports with him as he brought Shannon Sharpe to sit at the other end of the desk.

Things came to a head with the pair last year, however, and Sharpe was ultimately forced out. The former NFL tight end has since joined Stephen A. on ‘First Take’ at ESPN.
Shannon’s exit proved to be a massive blow as the viewership numbers at ‘Undisputed’ took a drastic plunge.
The show averaged 482,000 viewers last May, but that dropped to an embarrassing 52,000 a year later.
It was easy to assume that FS1 was no longer willing to pay Skip Bayless for such meager numbers and opted to pull the plug, but the journalist has suggested that the decision to part ways may have been his.
Of course, some would prefer to believe that FS1 let him go, but we may never know.
