When Antonio Brown ripped off his equipment, threw it into the stands and ran out of MetLife Stadium in the middle of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ week 17 road win against the Jets, many assumed that would be the last time we ever see the controversial wideout on an NFL field.
After all, there’s only so many chances you get at the NFL level, and AB seems to have worn out each and every one of them.
On top of that, Brown has recently claimed that he requires ankle surgery, but he doesn’t plan on going under the knife until after a team has signed him. Between the constant drama and the fact that he could miss most of the season recovering from surgery (especially if the injury is as bad as he claims and he continues to delay the surgery), it’s hard to imagine any team wasting their time on AB.
And then there’s the question of whether or not Brown is actually serious about returning. According to Undisputed co-host Skip Bayless, the former Bucs receiver may actually have other plans lined up for his future.
During Friday’s episode, Bayless told Shannon Sharpe that he spoke with rapper Lil’ Wayne, who told him that he believes Brown is set to become a full-time rapper. He even complimented AB’s abilities on the mic:
“I’ll throw in something that Lil Wayne told me (about) a month ago. We were talking about what is AB’s future, and Wayne said, ‘I think he’s going to be a full-time rapper’. That’s just his read from a distance. He’s heard him perform, and he thinks he’s pretty good, and obviously, he’s now got a partner who’s really good, who can prop him up in Kanye.”

Bayless went on to state that Brown’s sideline tirade could have been his perfect “controversy” to help him launch his NFL career. And for those who may not remember, Brown actually took that opportunity to release his track, “Pit Not The Palace.”
And he recently had a meeting with Kanye West that sparked collaboration rumors between the two.
Based on his recent transgressions, I’d say that Brown’s future in the rap game is much brighter than his future as an NFL wide receiver.
