USC Trojans’ quarterback and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams is the heavy front-runner to go first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, a class that is loaded with can’t-miss QB prospects.
Williams will get an opportunity to further cement himself as the top 2024 NFL Draft prospect when his Trojans visit Shedeur Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday afternoon in a game that promises to be score giant ratings.
But if you ask FS1’s Skip Bayless (who’s never ever short on hot takes that few people agree with), Shedeur will be a better NFL quarterback than Williams. Yes, you read that correctly.
While previewing tomorrow’s big game on “Undisputed” (h/t Ryan Broyles of Pro Football Network), Bayless explained why he thinks Shedeur will have greater success at the pros than last year’s Heisman Trophy winner:
“I’m projecting way into the future because we don’t have enough body of work from Shedeur yet. I’m gonna remind everyone out there that Shedeur Sanders has been sacked more than anyone in college football this year…He’s under siege on nearly every snap. He doesn’t move to run; he moves and slides to find the uncovered receiver. The more I watch him, the more he grows on me.”
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Shedeur has enjoyed great success under the guidance of his father and Colorado head coach, Deion Sanders. Shedeur has completed 76.9 percent of pass attempts for 1,410 yards and 11 touchdowns and one interception.

Williams has completed 74.3 percent of his pass attempts for 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns without a single interception to go along with 71 rushing yards and a trio of rushing scores.
Many project Shedeur to be an early-round draft choice in next year’s draft, should he declare for 2024. But at this phase, it’d be a huge surprise if anyone but Williams went first overall.
