FOX analysts Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless are convinced that a young quarterback is looking to get traded.
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields recently made headlines when he voiced his unhappiness with having to play in the Windy City’s cold weather conditions. Not only that, but the Ohio State product expressed hope that the Bears’ new indoor venue will be a dome.
On a new edition of their “Undisputed” show, Bayless and Sharpe discussed why they think Fields’ comments are a suggestion that he wants a trade (h/t Mitchell Forde of Athlon Sports):
“I got a big problem with this for Justin’s sake. The greatest home-field advantage in this league, when they have good teams, is home cold advantage, not in Green Bay but in Chicago. Because Chicago’s weather is worse than Green Bay’s to me, and I’ve experienced both, because of the wind…
It’s part of the Bears’ mystique. It’s part of the fabric of the franchise. We will beat you in our weather. You have to come play in our weather. And Justin’s saying, ‘I can’t take this weather because I don’t like it, I can’t play in the cold.’ No, Justin, that’s who your franchise has been, and you have to embrace it as part of what makes you the Chicago Bears.”
Sharpe added, “Justin Fields basically just said ‘trade me’.”
The Bears traded up so they could select Fields with the No. 11 selection in 2021. After a frustrating rookie year, he showed vast improvement as a dual-threat quarterback in the 2022 campaign.

Fields was one of the few positives on a Chicago team that finished with the NFL’s worst record. He tossed 17 touchdown passes against 11 interceptions while rushing for 1,143 yards and eight touchdowns.
Chicago holds the first overall pick, but if they opt to keep Fields, there’s a high chance that general manager Ryan Poles will end up trading it.
