Skip Bayless has what he wants when it comes to The Undisputed sports desk since the departure of Shannon Sharpe. Bayless’ “Undisputed” has been on extended hiatus for nearly two months since the NFL Hall of fame player was bought out.
During that time, the show has been able to get Rachel Nichols, rapper Lil Wayne, Amazon Prime Video’s Richard Sherman, and possibly ex-NFL star Keyshawn Johnson as weekly debaters for Bayless.
There was a chance for Skip to work with some in-house talent already at Fox Sports, but the network went another way. There was one person in particular that was labeled as a sure bet to receive the job opposite of Bayless, but the longtime analyst wanted no smoke from him.
A new report says Bayless refused to work with Nick Wright because he does not want to look bad.
FS1 personalities like Nick Wright, Joy Taylor, Emmanuel Acho, and Chris Broussard are all experienced and talented enough to excel on “Undisputed” if they were given the opportunity, but it looks like Skip did not want them or they did not want to be on his show in return. What we do know is that Bayless did not want Nick Wright to embarrass him on National TV five times a week.
Wright is a polarizing figure, who’s been a rising star in the sports media world for a while now. However, he clearly knows how to debate, and his love of LeBron James would irritate Bayless just as it did when Sharpe showed his love for the Lakers star.

Wright currently serves as a co-host on Fox Sports 1’s First Things First (FTF) alongside Kevin Wildes and Chris Broussard.
He seems to be happy where he is and Skip is certainly happy about the direction of his show.
