Skip Bayless is revealing what he was going through the night before he would say goodbye to his longtime friend from the Undisputed show.
Regardless of how Shannon Sharpe’s split from Skip Bayless went down behind the scenes, it ended with mutual respect on camera. After seven long years, the Skip Bayles-Shannon Sharpe partnership came to an end last week with the latter being able to negotiate a contract buyout with Fox Sports 1 program Undisputed at the end of this NBA season.
The night before Sharpe’s final show, Skip Bayless is admitting that he had trouble sleeping.
“I did pull an all-nighter because I couldn’t sleep a wink. I tried and I failed,” Bayless said. “I was so worked up, so torn up over what was happening that I couldn’t go to sleep.”
The rift between them was evident in the months before they split, but it was evident they still had and have a bond with each other. Bayless had nothing but fond memories from the thousands of hours he and Sharpe spent debating each other at the FOX Sports 1 studio in Los Angeles on live national television.
“In a way, Shannon and I were kind of a married couple on TV,” Bayless said. “I did not watch a single game of any sport in any magnitude for 7 years without thinking about what Shannon was thinking about the outcome of said game and how that outcome would impact tomorrow’s Undisputed.”
