Six New England Patriots Players Have Opted Out Of 2020 Season Due To COVID-19

The New England Patriots are being absolutely gutted this offseason with the amount of players that continue to opt out of playing in 2020.

The latest being Patriots S Patrick Chung who has decided to opt out of the 2020 season.

Chung is the sixth Patriots’ player to sit out the 2020 season.

Pro Bowl linebacker and defensive caption Dont’a Hightower opted out of the 2020 season after having a baby two weeks ago.

A message from #Patriots LB Dont'a Hightower, one of the highest profile players opting out amid the Coronavirus: “Me and my fiancée are just more concerned with the health of our family than football — especially the new addition to our family.”

Hightower has a 2-week-old son.

OT Marcus Cannon, RB Brandon Bolden, FB Danny Vitale and G Najee Toran are the other Patriots players who have opted out of playing.
