This is not the first time opposing players will accuse Derek Carr of being scared. And it probably won’t be the last either.
Earlier in the year, Los Angeles Chargers pass rushing stud Joey Bosa accused the Raiders quarterback of getting “shook” and “curling into a ball” during L.A.’s 28-14 week 4 win over Vegas. Carr was sacked four times and took seven hits in that contest.
Fast forward to week 10, and there was another division rival who was questioning Carr’s toughness.
This time it was the Kansas City Chiefs players who were caught along the sidelines claiming Derek Carr is “scared” and “He’s just going to be throwing it up,” following a sloppy throw that led to an interception by safety Daniel Sorensen.
Carr was in the midst of a career season, however, he and the Raiders have started to slide as of late. Prior to their 41-14 beatdown at the hands of the Chiefs, Vegas was handed a their third loss of the season by the lowly New York Giants in week 9, 26-16.

There was a time when Carr was not only leading the league in passing yards, but he was also on pace to set the single season record. He has since dropped to fourth in the league in that category, however, while throwing three interceptions to just three touchdowns over his last two outings, while failing to surpass the 300 yard mark in either of those games.
He’ll have a chance to bounce back and prove he isn’t scared when his Raiders take on a surprisingly rejuvenated Bengals defense on Sunday.
