We are less than 24 hours from the scene at Soldier Field where the Chicago Bears called on their kicker, Cody Parkey, to come in and win the game for them by knocking down a 43-yard field goal.
He double-doinked the kick off the upright and crossbar and he has been made public enemy #1 for it ever since.
Eagles defensive tackle Treyvon Hester may have just saved this young man’s life after he revealed after the game that he had tipped the ball.
“Me and Haloti (Ngata) … we got penetration, got the hand up like coach always says. Tipped off my fingertips,” he said to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
“Felt good … (but) actually, I thought I didn’t get enough of it, I thought it was going to go in. When I saw it going in, I turned back around. Then I heard everybody screaming, I was like, ‘Oh, (bleep) … he missed it.”
This NFL All-22 video of the play shows he was correct.
