Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was the victim of a frightening shooting incident in Florida this weekend.
The Texans have confirmed that the player was among 10 people who were injured during what could be described as a mass shooting at an establishment in Sanford on Saturday night.
“We have been made aware that Tank Dell was a victim of a shooting in Sanford, Fla. last night,” the team announced on Sunday. “We are in contact with him and his family and will provide more updates when appropriate but we ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the incident.”
Fortunately, the wideout has been released from the hospital after being treated for a non-life-threatening injury.
Authorities have also reported that all of the 10 victims sustained injuries to their lower extremities.

The Shooting Involving Tank Dell Could Have Been A Lot Worse
A report from FOX8 suggests that things could have been a lot worse. According to the outlet, which cites the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, a security guard tackled the shooter almost immediately, preventing him from firing any more shots, with another guard handcuffing him before he was arrested.
The shooter is reportedly 16 years of age and has since been checked into a juvenile detention center.
Witnesses told police the shooting started after an altercation, with someone uninvolved in the fracas pulling out a handgun and firing into the crowd of people before the security guard wrestled him to the ground and disarmed him.
FOX8 reports that the teenager has been charged with attempted homicide, firing a weapon in a public place, using a firearm during a felony, and illegal possession of a firearm by a minor.
