Video footage has surfaced online following a shooting incident involving San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall.
According to KGO-TV’s Dion Lim, Pearsall is in stable condition after reportedly sustaining a gunshot wound to the chest, having been the victim of a robbery attempt at Union Square on Saturday.
He is believed to have been at an autograph signing at the time of the incident.
“WR Ricky Pearsall was shot in the chest during a robbery attempt over a Rolex watch while on his way to an autograph signing, per the San Francisco Police Department,” NFL reporter Ari Meirov noted. “There was a struggle for the gun, and both Pearsall and the suspect were shot. Both are in stable condition.”

The 49ers hadn’t released a statement at the time of writing.
Ricky Pearsall, who played collegiately at Arizona State and Florida, was a first-round pick by the NFC outfit earlier this year.
The No. 31 overall pick, Pearsall is considered to be one of the most intriguing first-year players to have joined the pros, but this unfortunate development is very likely to delay his debut.
Of course, a bullet to the chest is quite serious. So we are glad to learn that the rookie is in stable condition and wish him a speedy recovery.
