The 2-year-old daughter of Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett drowned in a swimming pool at the family’s home on Sunday.
Officers, responding to a call that a child had fallen into a pool, were sent to Barrett’s home. The football player’s youngest child, Arrayah, was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead.
Barrett, 30, and his wife, Jordanna, have three other children.
Jordanna Barrett, the wife of Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett, is now breaking her silence as she posted her heartbroken reaction to the recent death of the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Arrayah.
“Thank you all for all the messages, flowers, thoughts, and prayers,” Jordanna wrote on Instagram.
“Our world will never be the same. Arrayah was the apple of my eye, and my heart will forever be with hers. I love you so much, my baby. I am so so sorry. Until we see each other again, please watch over your siblings and momma and dada. We love you forever and ever and always.
“I can’t wait to see that precious smile again, and just hug you so close. I would do absolutely anything. There is no Barrett 6 without you, and we will forever hold your place down here, until we all meet again in heaven. I love you forever and always.”
The mother also posted a link to an obituary for the late toddler.

“The investigation is ongoing,” the police report said on Sunday. “It is not believed to be suspicious in nature at this time, but a purely accidental and tragic incident.”
Barrett, who’s recovering from a torn Achilles that sidelined him for the second half of last season, is entering his fifth year with Tampa Bay after spending the first four seasons of his career with the Denver Broncos.
Barrett led the NFL with 19½ sacks in 2019. The following season he helped the Bucs win the Super Bowl.
