Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett and his wife dealt with a terrible tragedy earlier this year when their 2-year-old daughter Arrayah had fallen into the pool and was taken to a nearby hospital. However, Arrayah died a short time later, despite emergency efforts.
Shaquil Barrett’s wife, Jordanna, shared on Instagram this weekend that she is pregnant and penned a sweet caption in memory of their 2-year-old daughter Arrayah.
Jordanna Barrett posted a photo of her positive pregnancy test on Instagram.
“A few weeks after our sweet girls heaven day, Shaquil and I found out we were expecting!” Jordanna Barrett said in the caption of her post.
The couple has chosen to name their new child, Allanah.
Barrett went on to mention that she is mourning her daughter, but says that she has “given [her] hope.”

“She has changed so many lives with the short 2 years she blessed this Earth, and God works in such mysterious ways, but I will never ever doubt his plans for my life,” Barrett added.
Shaquil and Jordanna, who were high school sweethearts, got married in February 2012.
The couple has three older children, Shaquil Jr., Braylon, and Aaliyah. Jordanna is due in February of 2024.
Back in May, Tampa police confirmed that Arrayah died after drowning in a pool in a “purely accidental and tragic incident,” officials said.
Following the tragic news, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bucs’ current and former players, other NFL teams, players, and fans flooded Shaquil and his wife Jordanna’s social media accounts, offering their love and support during the unimaginably difficult time.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker season ended early in 2022 after he suffered a torn Achilles. Barrett had recorded 3.0 sacks, six tackles for loss, and six quarterback hits in eight games this past season.
Barrett has 54.5 sacks in 115 career games.
