Shannon Sharpe hasn’t quite gotten Skip Bayless out of his system yet as he could not stop referring to Stephen A. Smith as “Skip” during his first day on the job.
The NFL Hall of Famer made his debut on ESPN’s ‘First Take’ on Monday morning, joining Stephen A. and Molly Qerim on the sports debate show after coming to terms on a deal last month. However, it wasn’t a perfect all-round performance as he called Smith “Skip” on two occasions.
Skip is, of course, Shannon’s former debate partner Skip Bayless, whom he worked with on ‘Undisputed’ for seven years before he walked away at the end of the NBA finals earlier this year.
Shannon, a three-time Super Bowl champion, referred to Smith by the name of his former colleague at one point during the show, quickly correcting himself.
But he was unable to avoid making the mistake again as he name-dropped Bayless again just a few moments later.

On Skip’s part, we’re not aware of him having called any one of his new partners “Shannon” since the return of ‘Undisputed’.
