With the release of Henry Ruggs by the Las Vegas Raiders, his career is likely over, at least according to Shannon Sharpe. The hall of fame tight end told TMZ Sports he believes the former Raiders star’s fatal car crash will “probably” cost him his spot in the league.
Ruggs may be an up and coming young WR that could’ve made some real noise in the next few years, but even he is somehow escapes his legal issue, no team is going to want to take on the public relations backlash that would come with signing him.
“It’s sad,” the Broncos legend said. “I hate it for him that what he’s going to have to go through probably cost himself a career.”
Sharpe made it painfully clear that he doesn’t have too much sympathy for him because of the inexcusable choices he made that night that caused a 23-year-old woman to lose her life in a fiery crash.
“He was very selfish,” Sharpe said … “This lady lost her life because he was selfish. Because he was reckless. This isn’t a mistake.”
“A mistake is leaving my phone in the Uber. That’s a mistake. Getting intoxicated, making a conscious decision to drive a vehicle at a high rate of speed, that’s not a mistake. That’s reckless.”

Ruggs has since been hit with five charges and is said to be facing some 50 years in prison.
