As news spread regarding the tragic passing of former Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens great Tony Siragusa, more and more heartwarming stories and messages continued to pour in from the football world.
One of the latest came from Siragusa’s former Ravens teammate, Shannon Sharpe, who played with “The Goose” for two seasons, from 2000 to 2001. That meant the two of them not only won Super Bowl XXXV together, but they also got to star in the first ever season of HBO’s hit series, “Hard Knocks.”
The Ravens were featured on Hard Knocks in 2001. Fresh off a Super Bowl victory, the atmosphere around the Ravens’ facilities was a little more jovial…
Of course, it always helped to have a guy like Tony Siragusa around as well.
During one of the episodes, Goose barricaded the outside of a classroom door that was being occupied by Shannon Sharpe and some of the other offensive players. It was a classic training camp prank that eventually turned into must-see TV.
Sharpe couldn’t help but bring it up while delivering his heartfelt message on the passing of Siragusa. And he swore that he’d see his buddy again one day, so that the Hall of Fame tight end could finally get his “restitution” on the Goose.
Here’s a look at Sharpe’s message, as well as the “Hard Knocks” clip that he was referring to. Enjoy!
