Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe has made an impassioned plea to Richard Sherman following the latter’s arrest on Saturday.
Sherman, a former NFL cornerback who won a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks, was arrested for DUI and is due in court this Wednesday following a Judge setting his bail at $5,000.
Sharpe was replaced by Sherman after leaving FOX as he was among a few members of the rotating panel to join Skip Bayless after Sharpe left ‘Undisputed’.
The ‘Nightcap’ host revealed having spoken to Sherman before the ex-CB’s move to said network and admitted that hearing about the arrest was “really tough.”
“For Sherm to put himself back in harm’s way and to potentially bring others, that’s what I’m most disappointed in. Because he knows better,” he said on the show. “You brought every other car that’s on the road into the equation. We always say what didn’t happen, but then when it does happen, ‘Thoughts and prayers.’ Thoughts and prayers ain’t help nobody. I know Sherm. And I just hate that he put himself back in this situation.”
The arrest wasn’t Sherman’s first as he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor drunk driving and domestic violence charges in 2022.

Sharpe has urged him to get help and fix the problem, pointing out that he has a lot to offer.
“Take time, get this problem solved, bro. Because you’re better than this,” he added said. “You have a lot to give, and I would hate to see you really, really, not only hurt yourself, but harm someone else. Right now, your television career should be the last thing on your mind. The first thing that should be on your mind is getting the help that you need so you can be there for your family.”
