Shannon Sharpe is reportedly set to leave Undisputed at the end of the current NBA season.
Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post is reporting that the former NFL star has reached a buyout agreement will FOX that will see him leave both the show and the network, with his Club Shay Shay podcast also going off the network.
Sharpe was brought on to sit opposite Skip Bayless and cover the biggest sports stories debate style after the latter left ESPN for FS1, but he’s now set to leave the morning show for reasons unknown at this point.
The former tight end and NFL Hall of Famer bumped heads with Bayless after the Damar Hamlin incident in early January, with Sharpe skipping the show the following morning and challenging his co-host about his insensitive tweet when he returned. However, there’s been no confirmation as to whether it’s his reason for leaving at this juncture.
Sharpe was also very upset with Bayless during an episode in which the older analyst trashed his football career in defense of Tom Brady, and it appeared as if he was ready for a real confrontation as he took his glasses off while remonstrating.
There’s no word on where the 54-year-old is headed next or on who will replace him across from Bayless.
