Shannon Sharpe has announced his move to ESPN’s First Take following months of speculation.
The NFL Hall of Famer left his seat opposite Skip Bayless at ‘Undisputed’ earlier this year, walking away from FS1 after a seven-year stint. Rumors claiming he was set for The Worldwide Leader in Sports have been swirling since.
Sharpe has made two major announcements this week. The three-time Super Bowl winner disclosed having partnered with former FOX colleague Colin Cowherd on his The Volume platform, which will be the new home of Sharpe’s popular ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast, this Wednesday.
He’s taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, this Thursday to announce his move to First Take, telling fans to get the popcorn ready in a post featuring a photo of Dwyane Wade’s immortalized assist to LeBron James, but with his head and Stephen A. Smith’s photoshopped into it while the uniforms feature the ESPN logo.
Sharpe is expected to debate Smith on ‘First Take’ twice a week.
This is well and indeed a match made in heaven.
