The highly-anticipated television ratings for Monday’s episode of ESPN’s ‘First Take’ are here.
The show was one many sports fans were looking forward to as it marked the debut of Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe following his departure from FS1 and ‘Undisputed’ earlier this year.
Sharpe’s first appearance on the show proved to be a huge hit for The Worldwide Leader in Sports as, according to FrontOfficeSports, it averaged 754,000 viewers, making it the second most-watched episode of the network’s flagship program for the year. The post-Super Bowl episode on February 13 is still the most-watched in 2023.
‘Undisputed’ also had a big day given Colorado’s shocking win over TCU and the fact that Deion Sanders was on as a guest to discuss the monumental result. Still, it was dwarfed by ‘First Take’ at 215,000 viewers.
Stephen A. Smith’s show has been winning the ratings battle against his former debate partner Skip Bayless’s gig over at FOX since Skip’s return late last month. And, things are likely to get even better as it was recently announced that, in addition to Sharpe, Pat McAfee will also be part of the cast every Tuesday.
McAfee already has an insanely huge following because of his ‘The Pat McAfee Show’, which has since moved to ESPN. And it’s likely he will be bringing many of his viewers with him.
