The NFL world has been all over the place right now after the Baltimore Ravens placed a franchise tag on Lamar Jackson a few weeks ago.
Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless share their thoughts on Lamar Jackson receiving the non-exclusive franchise tag as well as the aftermath that has followed with no teams placing a bid for him.
On Wednesday’s edition of Undisputed, Sharpe addressed a recent report that reps from outside the NFL Players Association are reaching out to NFL teams on the behalf of Jackson. Sharpe said that the move shows “signs of desperation” as he tries to get a deal without hiring an agent.
“This looks like desperation to me. You don’t have an agent… If you had an agent you can go through back channels (to gauge the trade market). Last year the NFL specifically instructed teams not to negotiate with representatives not certified by the NFLPA… This is why (Jackson needs an agent)…” Sharpe said.
With Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens still at a stalemate, a representative for the quarterback has begun contacting teams in an effort to create a possible landing spot, according to a report.
The rep is also reportedly telling teams that Jackson is ready to move on from the Ravens.

Jackson is reportedly seeking a non-guaranteed contract worth at least $200 million.
Since they placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on him, the Ravens can match any offer and would receive two first-round picks if they decide not to match.
