Shannon Sharpe was unable to hold back the tears as his time sitting across Skip Bayless as co-host of FS1’s popular sports debate show Undisputed came to an end.
Sharpe, a former NFL tight end and a three-time Super Bowl champion, started said show with Bayless back in 2016 and it has been wildly successful. However, it was recently announced that he would be vacating his seat at the culmination of the NBA Finals. And, with the Denver Nuggets closing their series with the Miami Heat out on Monday night, the two men shared an emotional farewell at the end of Tuesday’s show.
Shannon has noted on countless occasions that Skip went to bat for him and, despite the friction in their relationship as of late, the NFL Hall of Famer voiced his appreciation as he broke down in tears while thanking Bayless for everything.
Bayless, in turn, thanked and praised Shannon, promising to toast him with some Mountain Dew and even telling him he was right about the Dallas Cowboys all along.

Sharpe is yet to announce his future plans and suggested he has no idea what he’s about to do next, but we’re definitely going to see him on television again. ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith has admitted that he would love it if he joined him over there. But we’re just going to have to wait and see.
