Shannon Sharpe has announced his next big move following his departure from FS1 and ‘Undisputed’ earlier this year.
Sharpe, who is expected to join Stephen A. Smith on ‘First Take’ at some point in the near future, has not quite agreed to a deal with ESPN. In the meantime, his ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast is going over to Colin Cowherd’s The Volume network.
Both media personalities made the announcement in a video on Wednesday which can be seen right below, though it appears Cowherd wasn’t informed right up until the very moment. He could have been pretending; we can’t say.
“The thing that really sold me was the partnership,” Sharpe said. “Throughout this process, everybody that was involved with “The Volume” always said we’re a partnership. We’re going to build you. Now that we’re partners and we’re in business together, let’s go do great things, bro.”
The two were coworkers at FS1 so they are likely to have already had a good relationship. Cowherd also praised Sharpe’s work ethic in the video, recalling the impression he made on him while at FOX.

Questions now loom over the possibility of Sharpe becoming a member of Smith’s rotating debate panel at ESPN. It’s understood that the network wants him on two days a week, so it will be interesting to see how things unfold on that front.
Cowherd might not be okay with Sharpe appearing on ESPN while in partnership with him but Sharpe could easily handle both shows if it’s not a problem given that he ran ‘Club Shay Shay’ while doing Undisputed five days a week.
